Lake Okeechobee Guide Service Information

Here is the information you need for arranging a guided bass fishing trip with Chet Douthit. If you are fishing artificial lures, Chet carries plenty of gear with him for your use. Please feel free to bring your own favorite rod and reel, if you are comfortable with it. Chet with his many years of experience, is happy to help you learn the sport of bass fishing.

When you select a professional guide for your bass fishing trip, experience is the foremost desired condition. Chet Douthit is one of the oldest guide services on Lake Okeechobee and his experience is second to none.

Chet's Rates

Daily Rates

• Full Day trip 1 or 2 people (8-9 hours)  $350.00

• 1/2 day trip (4-5 hours) $250.00

• Third person $50.00 extra

• Super Half Day trip ( 6 hours) $300.00

• All live bait at customers expense.

• Special trips arranged for Stick Marsh, Istakpoga, and Everglades. Call 863-902-9471 to arrange special trips with Chet.

• Florida Freshwater license

• Sunscreen

• Jacket or windbreaker most mornings.

• Camera

• Drinks and Lunch

Plan your day with Chet Douthit

Chet will meet you at  a predetermined time and location the morning of your trip. You will be fishing out of a 2007 Storm Boat with a Mercury Optimax. This is a large, comfortable boat with plenty of storage for stowing gear etc. When using wild shiners and live bait, Chet will furnish the tackle. Live bait is always at customer's expense and will normally be purchased that morning. Chet is a firm believer in "Catch and Release" but can help you arrange a taxidermist if you want to have a replica mount made of a trophy catch.

If you prefer to use artificial lures, Chet has rods and reels available onboard or you may bring your own favorite equipment with you.  Plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures are the lures most often  used here on Lake Okeechobee.
